The George Eveleigh house at 39 Church St. was built in 1743. Eveleigh was a wealthy merchant who made his fortune in the deerskin trade built his home along Vanderhorst Creek. The concrete mooring rising out of the sidewalk to the left of the gate is an original mooring from the creek bank.
