| Rainbow Row The homes along this section of East Bay St. were built individually between the 1720šs-1790šs. An undesirable part of town following the Civil War the area developed into near slum condition. In the early 1900šs Dorothy Porcher Legge purchased a section of dwellings at 99-101 East Bay and began to renovate them with the idea of using a Colonial Caribbean color scheme, which is still in use today and gives the area the name Rainbow Row. |
